Cornish Charcuterie award-winning British charcuterie based in Bude on the North Cornish coast. Using free-range Cornish pork and locally sourced ingredients they create authentic, innovative flavours with a distinctly Cornish twist! Founded by Richard and Fionagh Harding, who swapped careers in London’s financial sector for a very different life on the North Cornish coast. In 2006, they bought Norton Barton Farm, a 350-acre site near Bude, with little farming experience but a big vision: to create a thriving, sustainable business rooted in the land. They began by converting the farm to organic, rearing traditional breeds including British Lop pigs, North Devon cattle, and Black Welsh Mountain sheep. But it soon became clear that to survive, they needed to do more than simply farm — they had to add value to what they produced.
The answer came in the form of charcuterie. By combining their high-welfare livestock with artisan techniques and a flair for flavour, they created a range of pâtés, rillettes, salamis, and cured meats that showcased the very best of Cornish produce. In 2011, Cornish Charcuterie was born. Today, Cornish Charcuterie stands as a testament to Richard and Fionagh’s leap of faith — a story of passion, innovation, and a commitment to provenance, putting Cornwall firmly on the map for artisan charcuterie. Yes, we know that Bude is in Cornwall and not our beloved Devon but as the crow flies they are only 22 miles away so we deem that local!
Popti, Cornish Bakehouse specialise in savoury biscuits, crackers, and thins — items designed both for enjoying on their own and for pairing, such as with cheese or with charcuterie. Small batch made , focusing on quality ingredients — things you’d find in your own kitchen: wheat flour, rich butter, good seasonings. No artificial flavourings, colours or preservatives. They are simply perfect paired with everything in this hamper.
Perello, now they definitely aren’t local to the Westcountry, however, how could we not include a renowned Spanish brand who specialise in high-quality olives, antipasti & oil? Established in 1964 by Gaspar Perelló, the company began with a modest stall in Barcelona’s famed Boqueria Market and are now Iconic with their range, especially their Gordal Olives. Large, meaty green olives often infused with chilli, they’ll turn any olive sceptic to olive enthusiast.
